Jack the Ripper

Whitechapel 1888

Originally named Thrall Street and corrupted to Thrawl Street, this street ran parallel to Flower & Dean Street and could be entered from Commercial Street, Brick Lane or George Street via Flower & Dean Street or Wentworth Street. Another squalid common doss-house street, Thrawl Street included Cooley’s doss-house, where, prior to her final move to Miller’s Court, Mary Jane Kelly had briefly stayed.
